Manage arriving Visitors for unplanned visits

If Visitors arrive for an unplanned visit, you can create a visit to keep track of their visit.

Procedures differ for a given site, but usually an unplanned visit requires:

A Host for the visit is identified.

The potential Host is contacted to ensure that they can Host the visit.

The Host’s personnel record is modified to enable Can Host Visit. If needed, might require personnel administrative privileges.

A visit object is created, and the Host is added to the visit.

Creating a visit

  • If Visitor personnel records are available, add them to the visit.

  • Create new Visitor personnel records.

  • Visitor personnel records must have a Personnel Type of Visitor, or another Personnel Type that has Can Be Visitor enabled.

Check in the Visitors, optionally assigning and issuing temporary credentials.

When the visit is over, check out the Visitors, collect any issued access cards, and return temporary credentials.
