Creating a Visit Template

You can create a Visit template , and use the template as the basis of new Visits by saving the settings you want your Visits to have in common. In a template, you can fill in field values with the same values for all Visits, and then use the template when you are creating new Visits. This is subject to the settings that C•CURE 9000 allows you to save in a template.

If you use a Visit Template to create one or more Visits, and then later modify the Visit Template, the Visits you created previously are not changed as a result.

A Visit Template is particularly useful when you are using the Web Portal to let Hosts create Visits, because Visit Templates can include Clearances, so that the Visits created by Hosts from Visit Templates have the correct Clearances already assigned. If a Host creates a Visit on the Web Portal without using a Visit Template, that Visit will not have any Clearances.

Because the Host of a Visit using the Web Portal cannot add Clearances directly to a Visit, it is important that a Visit Template containing the appropriate Clearances be available from which the Host can create a Visit with the right Clearances.

It is also important that a Host at the Web Portal be able to know the locations to which the Visit Template provides access, so it is useful to list such information in the Instructions field for the Visit.

Later, if needed, the Host can use the Web Portal to modify the Visit by changing to a different Visit Template to attach a different set of Clearances to the Visit. This functionality is available through the Visitor Management application and Import, but not through the Visit editor.

  1. In the Navigation pane of the Administration Workstation, click C•CURE Portal to open the C•CURE Portal pane.
  2. Select Visit from the drop-down list in the C•CURE Portal pane.
  3. Click the down-arrow on the New button and click on Template to create a new Visit template. The Visit editor opens, and you can configure the Visit.
  4. Any fields that you configure values for become part of the template (subject to the settings that C•CURE 9000 allows you to save in a template). When you subsequently create a new Visit from the template, these field values are already filled in.
  5. Select one of the following options:
    • To save your new Visit template, click Save and Close.
    • To create a copy of the current Visit object, click Create Copy.
    • To save the current Visit and Check-in the Visitors, click Save and Check in.

See The Check In Visitors screen for more information.
